Do Your Research

Making money with Google Adsense is a very simple job that many people can master without much experience. Anyone can create a free blog and write articles, so anyone can effectively make money with Adsense. But the amount of money that can be made can vary greatly. Doing research before starting is highly recommended.

How it Works

First, I’d like to explain how you will actually be making money with Google Adsense. Basically, you will be writing articles about a certain topic, and getting paid for showing ads within the articles. Google will take care of the ad serving, all you have to worry about it creating original content, and getting visitors to come to your site. The rest should take care of itself.

Find a Topic

Next, you must find a topic that you can write about. It should be a vague topic that you can write more specific articles about. To start making money with Google Adsense, you really need to have a large collection of very specific articles. This is much better than having a website that is very vague. It is also easier to promote specific articles.

Let’s say that you want to write about birthday parties. Your blog could be called something like “Birthday Party Tips” or something similar. This is a good topic because you can write many more specific articles, such as “Children birthday party ideas”, and “birthday cake recipes”. The possibilities are endless.

Using Blogger

Blogger is a free blogging platform that is also owned by Google. If you don’t have the money to spend on a website, then this is probably your best option. Just go to Blogger.com, and use your Google account to sign in. Now you can create a free blog. Remember to pick a blog with a title that tells what the main idea of the site is about. Leave the specific phrases to your articles, or “posts”.

You should try to update your blog with a new article at least twice a week. Make sure that each article is at least 300 words long, and all original content. You may also benefit by reading up on some search engine optimization, or “SEO” tips.

Promoting Your Blog

Here comes the hardest part, promotion. You will never get off the ground making money with Adsense if you can’t get any visitors to your site. You need to make your site rank in the search engines in order to get traffic. This is a never ending task, but it will pay off greatly once you have your site ranked well. I could literally write a book on how to promote your site, but this is something that just takes time to learn. In the most basic terms, you need to have links to your site from as many other sites as possible. Post on forums, comment on blogs, etc… You may be interested in trying out an SEO service that will promote your site for you, but usually these services are not worth it.

But what if, for some reason, you get banned by Adsense? Or, what if you have a website that Adsense doesn’t want ads on? There are many website themes out there that Adsense doesn’t allow in the ToS, but that doesn’t mean that your website can’t make money. There are actually many alternatives to Adsense out there. Let’s take a look at 2 of the major Adsense competitors:

Adbrite

This is the first CPM ad network that I ever tried using, and I still love it to this day. If you have a website that is getting a large amount of traffic, but low CTR, then maybe you should give Adbrite a try. There are codes you can put on your website that will allow you to have full page ads, or simple banners, in which you will get paid a small amount for every single impression, or page view. That’s right, you don’t even have to get clicks in order to get paid. Pretty cool right? There are actually many networks that allow you to get paid for CPM, but in my opinion, Adbrite is the best paying one. You will also love their backend.

Bidvertiser

Bidvertiser is also another great PPC network that you can use instead of Adsense. They are usually more lenient when it comes to Adult websites, or websites that Adsense would prefer not to have ads on, so this is a major plus. You will normally not make the same amount as you would with Adsense, but using Bidvertiser, and other tier 2 networks, will allow you to monetize websites that may be hard to monetize in other ways.
