Making Money on Ebay – 10 Simple Steps

So you’re interested in making money on eBay? Today I’ve put together 10 simple steps that will set you on the right path to creating an eBay income.

  • You can’t do anything on eBay without an account. Your eBay account is free to sign up for and you will not have to pay any fees unless you make a sale. This means that your account requires zero long-term commitment at all. If eBay isn’t for you, just walk away. If you change your mind down the road, just walk away. (Of course, I’m going to show you how easily you could be making money on eBay, so I’d hang onto that account for now)
  • Getting acquainted with eBay will help you be a better eBay seller. Learn the site’s navigation and features. Read through eBay policies. Look through other sellers store and auctions to get some ideas. Basically, just take your time and explore!
  • Determine what types of products you want to sell. Making money on eBay will be a lot more enjoyable if you are interested in what you are selling. Find a product that you know a lot about, or know where you could find inventory.
  • Create your first listings! While eBay has great step-by-step instructions to walk you through this, if you want to make the most money, you need to make your listings stand out. Buyers often skim through several pages of listings. To make your listing really catch the buyer’s attention, you should write a concise but detailed description that accurately outlines your product and its key features. You should also use images to help the buyer really understand.
  • Consider using eBay’s “listing upgrades”. These are special features that eBay can add to your listing to make it stand out even more – like bolding, subtitles, and framing.
  • Once you have some successful auctions, you can start really making money on eBay by creating your own eBay store. To maintain your store, you will need to stock a variety of products and have sufficient quantity of these items.
  • Choose a supplier for your eBay store. There are two types of suppliers – wholesalers and dropshippers. When buying from a wholesaler, you need to purchase the goods upfront. There is a risk if you do not manage to sell the items. When buying from a dropshipper, you only place the order once the buyer has paid you, and the dropshipper manages the shipping. This is less risky.
  • Build your seller feedback. Encourage those who buy from you to leave ratings and reviews about the service you provided. New buyers will read this feedback, often in the process of choosing to do business with you or not. Buyers might comment on the quality of goods shipper vs indicated on the store, the timeliness of delivery, their overall satisfaction, etc.
  • Increase traffic to your eBay store using internet marketing tactics such as search engine advertising or social media.
  • Sit back and watch your money grow! Making money with eBay is simple, and efficient!
